the village of KAPRUN

jewel of the SALZBURGER LAND region

Home to 3,130 residents, Kaprun is a village in the Salzburger Land region  bringing together everything that makes this area so special. Its location at the foot of the Hohe Tauern Mountains featuring some of the highest peaks in Austria makes Kaprun the perfect base to explore this spectacular natural paradise.

Away from the village centre, the municipal territory of Kaprun extends into the Hohe Tauern National Park. It includes the Großes Wiesbachhorn, at 3,570 metres the seventh-highest mountain in Austria and the third-highest in the Glockner Massif. From south to north flows the Kapruner Ache, a river which eventually merges with the Salzach – the main river through Salzburg.
