As early as the mid-1980s, committed Kapruners joined forces as part of the relief service. The aim was to help families in emergencies with the help of everyday life or financial support. From this idea of unbureaucratic and fast neighbourhood assistance, the successor association Kapruner Hilfswerk was born in 1991. Since 2011, the Kaprun Relief Agency has been part of the voluntary regional groups of the Salzburg Relief Agency. The independent charity, which receives donations, provides financial assistance in emergencies, sets up social activities and organises the “food on wheels”. In addition, offers from the Family and Social Centre of the Salzburg Relief Agency such as home nursing, home help, 24-hour care, care aids (e.g. nursing beds) or other social services are provided.
